D-Sup Proctor clutched his coffee cup grimly. The storms had closed in just as Old Jack had predicted sweeping in from over Heaven's Mountains and stopping all communications. That was a minor blessing as when they arrived no movement would be possible and there was the thing currently sitting in the town 'goal' that he could hand over as soon as it finished.
"Lucia, Lucia, more coffee" he bawled through open door. It was hot as the storm fronts approached, but then it was always hot in Shen Nung, except when it was bloody freezing, open doors were a necessity, especially since there was no air conditioning.
"Lucia, you ever seen anything like that, that thing in the jail?" Lucia had brought the coffee but didn't pour it into his still full cup instead she leant back against the door frame chewing softly.
"Nope not that I can remember, talking of which you sure it'll last the storm out, JB and his mates are pretty upset, it might fall down the stairs again."
"They were steps Lucia and it was an accident, still Sergeant B'weena decided that the goal would be the best place for her and her troops to station themselves."
"Yes you can always fall back on good old Sergeant B'weena, can't you."
"Lucia just keep trying the comms won't you."
"Sure, whatever", throwing up her arms Lucia left the inner sanctum carefully shutting the door.
The coffee cooled, Proctor stared at his slate, the rain beat in irregular tattoo against the plexiglass window.
He was reaching for the cup when his ppc went off, "Damn", he fumbled for the respond tab, "B'weena?"
"You're sure, movement?"
"No nothing here, hold on. Lucia", he raised his voice, "Lucia you see anything out there?"
"No nothing here, you stay with the, um, prisoner and I'm on my way."
A six foot by four foot board representing the town stead of Shen Nung, think a cattle town from the wild west, one main street and a few outlying buildings. There must be a Supervisor's Office for Proctor use something relatively impressive; a building to act as the 'goal'; a landing pad with the VTOL on it and one to act as a bar.
With the storm approaching each turn check the two activation dice as a reaction check with a target number of four.
The human player can try and recruit more people from the town, in order to do so they need to enter a building and then make the following check.
If someone joins generate them at random using the standard All Things Zombies survivior cards.
Due to the storm the response force has become split up and arrives in dribs and drabs. Each turn make a reinforcement check against a target number of four until all forces have arrived.
From left to right. Sergeant B'weena, Private Schultz, D-Sup Proctor, Private Sanction, Lucia, Pilot d'Armand, JB, Unwin, Reporter Schanchequill (out of focus as usual)
Sergeant B'weena and one of her troops start in the 'goal', Proctor and Lucia start in the Office and everyone else is in the bar.

This world is extremely hostile. In addition one of the hive is captured and must be retrieved for reabsorbtion. As Quatinery Subleader you have organised a rescue force and called upon the Fast Response Spugs, but bad weather is delaying them.
Each turn Spug reinforcements arrive from a random board edge.

This scenario introduces the Flight Spugs but poses a nasty problem in that they need to have enough on the table to make a good go of the jail whilst the longer they leave it the more prepared Proctor's mottly crew will be.
As Proctor and Lucia sped to a waiting car the Spugs slowly gathered. In the bar all was well and the revellers listened in awe to JB as he explained how he'd held off the Blue Terror almost single handed. Locking the comms station door Sgt B'weena and her troops headed for the bar to get help.
A lucky comms Spug ended up behind some rocks near the landing pad and started trying to contact the hive. Meanwhile the trooprs tried to rouse people from nearby houses with mixed results. For a while there were isolated incidents where loan Spugs wandered into town and were quickly crunched, but slowly their numbers built in bigger and bigger groups. The bar tales continued even after the troopers arrived.
Finally the truth dawned and as the bar tender made a break for the bar everyone boiled out except for the Militia who decided to hold the bar, and the whisky. Now the pressure increased with two or three spugs at a time appearing and casuing havoc. More and more of the townsfolk became casualties but one house acted as a firebase preventing any access to the Comms Station where the captured Spug was being held. There were many opportunities for great action shots but Reporter Schanchequill missed them all, until finally whilst fiddling with his lens cap he took a shard to the stomach and went down, out of the fight.
One lone Spug managed to get to the back windows of the bar and suddenly it was clear with the militia down, wounded. With everything going the Spugs way even the Leader got in on the act, Hive contact was strong so he risked peaking over a window sill in the strong house. Bang, bang two shots richocted off his head just missing the multi-facted eyes. He wisely ran the rest of the mission from an abandoned house.
Still with Proctor and Lucia behind the car now outside the communication station; the military holding the strong house and some improptue baracades also covering the comms station and a couple of gung ho townsfolk securing the bar flank it looked like the way was blocked.
With strong Hive contact one Spug managed to blindside the houses defender and take him out and down, three Spugs lept out from behind a house and shards flew down the barricades, with everyone either down or out. Only Lucia was standing and she was actually crouching behind a car, trying to ressuscitate Proctor. Who could stop the Spugs now? Pilot d'Armand that's who. he had been skulking closer and closer to the VTOL whilst dodging a heavy weapon Spug and another which, fool, had tried to hunt him down. Powering up the VTOL and spinning the chain gun he decided to give the Spugs a taste of their own medicine when one spotted him and many shards hit the canopy. Seeing Lucia struggling to carry Proctor to safety he decided that picking them up was more important and diverted off for just that purpose.
As the townsfolk emerged an hour later they found the Comms Shack in ruins, the prisoner gone and all the Glorious People's Army dead. Holding each other up and struggling back to the bar they realised that they were helpless and the Space Bugs could overrun the town at any time. They needed help and they needed it now.
High above them d'Armand was trying to punch a message through the storm back to Shang-Ti Station, only to hear "Hold on there little eagle, this is Commander Jackson of SF-1, deliverance is on hand."
